Join Open Kitchen’s Chef de Cuisine Erica Tai and travel the world through your palate with our Japanese Cuisine Cooking Class! Come and learn how to make some delicious Japanese foods with traditional techniques and flavors. Experience the making of classic street food – potato croquette and Okonomiyaki with rich flavors and crunchy texture. We will also learn to make crispy chicken katsu from scratch which can be added into a sandwich or served with steamed rice!

Japanese Cuisine Cooking Class Menu

Japanese Potato Croquette
Mashed potato mixed with chives, corn kernels coated with panko and fried till golden brown and crispy

Okonomiyaki – Japanese Cabbage Pancake with Bacon or Vegetarian
Japanese savory pancake with cabbage, onion and bacon served with tangy Okonomiyaki sauce, Japanese mayonnaise, and dried bonito flakes

Crispy Chicken Katsu with Red Cabbage salad
Crispy Panko-coated, fried chicken cutlet served with crunchy red cabbage salad

What to Expect:

This is a hands-on, engaging, and intimate cooking class.  You will have the opportunity to cook alongside Open Kitchen Chef Team, dine on all the dishes you’ve made, and have fun!  You will experience a memorable day at Open Kitchen among a community of friends with recipes to take back to your home kitchen.

*This cooking Class is a publicly offered event.  At Open Kitchen, we follow the related rules and regulations regarding COVID-safety.  The cooking classes are limited in the number of guests so we can provide the recommended space and safe environment for everyone.  The maximum guests for this cooking class is 16 people.  Register your tickets fast!

Cooking Class is $115 plus tax per person

All guests will be required to show proof of vaccination upon checking in. For those who are not vaccinated, we will also accept proof of negative results from a COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of the event. Photos may be taken by Open Kitchen during class/event. Unless you explicitly make a request to Open Kitchen not to be photographed, Open Kitchen has full consent to take photographs while you are on our premises. Open Kitchen has full and unrestricted rights of these photographs. *Registered Events are non-refundable unless related to COVID and Health-related issues – we will hold a credit for 60 days.
