Hong Kong Cuisine Cooking Class

Event date: May 28, 2022 ∙ 10 am to 1 pm

Registration Deadline by Wednesday, May 25th, 2022

Join Open Kitchen and Experience the Hub of Hong Kong’s Street Foods and Night Life!

Hong Kong is known for its bustling streets and vibrant night life. Many culinary traditions in Hong Kong are influenced by Chinese and English cultures. Over time, Hong Kong has developed its unique flavors by incorporating its weather, agriculture, and marine advantages to curate rich crops and seafood for their cuisine. The savory radish cake is an everyday stable that you see in Dim Sum restaurants. It is also served during Chinese New Year as a sign of good luck. We will also explore the flavors of using authentic Chinese spice/herbal medicine, “Female Ginseng” in cooking to enhance the flavors. The Pan-fry noodles with sauce topping and Hong Kong style Pain Perdu are two classic dishes to order when walking into a restaurant or café in Hong Kong. Join Open Kitchen’s Chef de Cuisine Erica Tai to explore the recipes and techniques behind this exciting cuisine!
