Kyzer Farms sells locally and humanely raised pork - Open Kitchen uses for Cooked and Delivered meal Delivery

Kyzer Farm in the South Valley of Albuquerque was originally an alfalfa farm. But when Robert Kyzer took over for his dad, he started to raise Berkshire, Red Duroc, Old English Spotted, and York hogs. Their pigs are healthy, clean & free of antibiotics and so their pork is full of flavor & nutrients. Raising pigs without antibiotics means it’s a 24-hour a day job, constantly monitoring their health and looking after their well-being. The piglets are weened at 230 days rather than the usual 150. And, Robert feeds them a No. 1 grain (close to edible for humans), but only after each bag of grain is meticulously scoured with black lights to check for mold and other undesirable things. When you buy Kyzer, you know the meat was processed within the week, which is why Dr. Field Goods Butcher Shop happily sells Kyzer pork – Josh Gerwin won’t sell meat that’s been frozen. Read more about Kyzer Farms in this 2016 article by Local Flavor.
